The Gunners have more bullets now to use in the battle to win this year’s Premier League – and it’s down to football fans buying homes in the old Arsenal stadium.

Arsenal has now sold 445 of the 655 private apartments in its Highbury Square redevelopment of its former ground in North London, bringing in a cool £172.4m to so far. Arsenal Holdings reported pre-tax profits up to £45.5m in the year to 31 May, up from £36.7m from last year. Total revenue was £313.3m, with matchday revenue contributing £100.1m.

Since their year end, a further sale of a block of apartments has raised another £41.4million. London & Stamford Property Limited has bought a block of apartments in the North Stand, at Highbury – plus car parking spaces and storage for all your (Arsenal) kit.
The apartments comprise a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom flats and 3 bedroom penthouses set over 8 floors on this hallowed and historic site, which will all be available to let through Knight Frank.

There are still apartments for sale; for those gunning for something different and who, somehow, have not got around to buying a piece of the legendary ground, Savills have 2 bedroomed apartments for sale at £605,000 and 1 bedders at £420,000.
They are footballer level flash and the WAGS will enjoy great transport connections to Bond Street shops and any number of clubs that don’t have the word ‘Football’ before them.

The improved revenues, boosted by the sale of these very desirable homes give the club’s manager Arsene Wenger more money to spend on extremely expensive new players, which, in times when footballer’s wages are still rising, can only be helpful. If though, you haven’t got the crazy footballing salary to enable immediate purchase, Benham Reeves currently have several to rent, at £425 per week for a two bed or £750 per week for a 3 bed penthouse, depending on which league you are in.
